NEW ACTIVITY GROUPS
At the recent kickoff coffee, a number of members signed up for the prospective new activity groups. Since not everyone attended the coffee, here is an update for what is going on to give everyone a chance to participate in the new groups:
Investment Group - The purpose of the group is to share information and discuss topics related to personal investing and financial management. The topics to be discussed could include asset allocation, stock selection, alternative investments, insurance, options, tax strategy, and macroeconomic conditions. The group does not offer personal investment advice or replace the role of your personal financial advisor. The group meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the community room at the Bergen Park Fire Rescue station. If you would like to join this group or would like more information, please contact Donald Rosenthal at [email protected].
Ski Group - This is a group that existed in the past, but has been inactive. A number of people signed up at the coffee to reactivate the group. If you are interested in joining, please contact John Kinat at [email protected]. Skiers of all levels are encouraged to join. The primary focus is downhill skiing, and there will not be a designated time and date to ski, as outings will be weather dependant. The roster will be divided by ski area passes; Epic (VR), Epic Summit , Rocky Mtn. (WP/Cu) and separate WP/Cu as well as Loveland. that way we have sub-groups within Ski ENN.
Bowling Group - This new group has a Day Group led by Richard Purdy,
[email protected]. They will meet every 4th Tuesday of the month at 1:00 at the Wild Game. There is also a Night Group led by Amy Mueller, [email protected]. They will meet every 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00 at the Wild Game. For both groups, the cost of each lane will be divided by the number of people bowling at each lane. If you are interested in joining or want more information, please contact Amy Mueller or Richard Purdy.
Quilting Group - This new group will be meeting once a month on the 3rd Monday of the Month at members’ homes. It has room for more members of all quilting levels, and they will be tackling some quilt projects together. If you would like to join or get more information, please contact Tricia Rosenthal at [email protected].
Adventure Group - This new group started out to be for single members, but at the initial organizational meeting the decision was made to make it to open to anyone. The group will meet approximately once a month to plan and organize activities, and is designed to provide adventurous activities for men and women looking to explore Colorado and beyond as a group. Some of the activities may include camping, snowmobiling, dog-sledding, tubing, canoeing, horseback riding, movies, theater, live music and travel. For more information contact one of the co-chairs, Maureen Taillon, [email protected], or Michelle Barbiere, [email protected].
Walking Group - This proposed new group will complement the hiking group by offering outings that involve walking as opposed to hiking opportunities. The exact nature and destinations of the walks will be determined by the group members themselves. If you are interested in more information or would to join please contact Linda Bolinger at [email protected].
