Leader: Mindy Nitkin [email protected] I grew up hearing "One bam! Three crack! Soap!" and listening to the click of the tiles. Did you? Whether the answer is yes or no, join us for a weekly Mah Jongg game on Friday mornings from 10-noon at Congregation Beth Evergreen. We have a friendly game that's fun and enjoyable! All levels of players are welcome. I'm happy to teach anyone interested in learning. Feel free to contact me with questions. Hope to see you soon! The game is played with a set of 144 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols. In most variations, each player begins by receiving 13 tiles. In turn players draw and discard tiles until they complete a legal hand. In North America, legal hands are created annually by the National Mah Jongg League. Cards are available annually for $9 for large print card, $8 for smaller card. ALL ARE WELCOME! The leader has been playing Mah Jongg for about 5 years and is happy to both teach the game to new players and coordinate a weekly game for veteran players. Please contact me if you have an interest in joining the group. |
