Are You Covered?

At our Club’s last board meeting, officers met with the insurance agent who underwrites the policy that covers our organization.  As a result of that discussion, we felt it important to inform everyone of the coverage that involves our membership.  Many of our activities are held in homes and many activities are risk-free.  There are some functions that could pose liability issues, and therefore, we felt it important that members be fully informed as to the coverage our policy provides.  While we are making no recommendations as to what kind of riders are necessary, those of you who regularly host groups in your homes may want to revisit your individual policies to make sure you have the coverage you are most comfortable with.  See Page 10 for policy details and further information.

President’s Message

Happy New Year!

The “Season of Lights” has passed and we are again enjoying days that are getting longer.  Illumination is something we often take for granted.  As the result of an ice storm, we were once without power for four days.  Living in darkness became oppressive.  All of our usual activities demanded some sort of light.  When the repair crews finally got to our neighborhood, we stood on the back porches and applauded.

In this issue, we are shining a light on two subjects.  The first is insurance coverage.  While it is generally conceded within the organization that members cannot be held liable for other members, there are always exceptions and we want you to be as informed as possible.  Please read the article in this issue carefully.

Secondly, the nominating committee has begun work to fill the slate of new officers.  Many within this organization have served on the board.  While it is a commitment of time and effort, it also is a rewarding experience.  We are always looking for new people to bring new ideas and a fresh look at how our organization can improve what we offer.  You don’t have to wait to be asked--volunteers are eagerly solicited!  Contact any board member listed below to indicate your interest.  Thank you.

Happy New Year, everybody!  There was no outing in December to allow all of us to enjoy the holiday season and there will be no outing this month either as the weather is too unpredictable this time of year.  We will start again in February and look for a great year of trails and overnight adventures dreamed of by your fearless leaders.  See you all next month!

The big snowstorm we had last month caused us to cancel Bunco and our holiday party, unfortunately.  But it was best we stayed home and stayed safe!  Our next game will be held on Wednesday, January 24th.  Send RSVPs to Karen Schenk.  Happy New Year!

We are looking forward to an inspiring year learning and making new crafts.  We meet the third Wednesday of each month and our goal is to create a craft that day.  We meet in the morning for coffee and conversation and then start our craft.  We bring a light lunch and then finish our project.  This month, we will go to the quilt museums, fabric shop, and then lunch in Golden.  We encourage new members to join.  For more information, e-mail Audrey or phone Betty.
