Are You Covered? At our Club’s last board meeting, officers
met with the insurance agent who underwrites the policy that covers our
organization. As a result of that
discussion, we felt it important to inform everyone of the coverage that
involves our membership. Many of our
activities are held in homes and many activities are risk-free. There are some functions that could pose
liability issues, and therefore, we felt it important that members be fully
informed as to the coverage our policy provides. While we are making no recommendations as to what kind of
riders are necessary, those of you who regularly host groups in your homes
may want to revisit your individual policies to make sure you have the
coverage you are most comfortable with.
See Page 10 for policy details and further information. |

Happy New Year! The “Season of Lights” has passed and we are
again enjoying days that are getting longer.
Illumination is something we often take for granted. As the result of an ice storm, we were
once without power for four days.
Living in darkness became oppressive.
All of our usual activities demanded some sort of light. When the repair crews finally got to our
neighborhood, we stood on the back porches and applauded. In this issue, we are shining a light on two subjects. The first is insurance coverage. While it is generally conceded within the
organization that members cannot be held liable for other members, there are
always exceptions and we want you to be as informed as possible. Please read the article in this issue
carefully. Secondly, the nominating committee has begun work
to fill the slate of new officers.
Many within this organization have served on the board. While it is a commitment of time and
effort, it also is a rewarding experience.
We are always looking for new people to bring new ideas and a fresh
look at how our organization can improve what we offer. You don’t have to wait to be
asked--volunteers are eagerly solicited!
Contact any board member listed below to indicate your interest. Thank you. LaDona Thomas Vincent President |
