DEADLINES, DEADLINES, DEADLINES!!! Whether we are employed, retired, have
divested ourselves of numerous responsibilities; we are constantly invited to
respond to the latest and greatest by a set date and time--the tyranny of the
urgent, as
we refer to it in our consulting business. Once a year, I try to schedule a vacation where
we can go to a favorite destination, shut off the cell phone, take off our
wrist watches and enjoy a couple of days where we get up when we wake up, eat
when we are hungry, sleep when we are tired.
It isn’t that easy but once you get the hang of it, is a cool way to
spend a couple of days. Deadlines, however, are a necessary part of our
lives. I’m writing this to encourage
you to take advantage of one that the board has set--send in your renewal
for membership in Evergreen Newcomers by October 15th. We are committed to having the directory printed earlier this
year and want to have it as complete as possible. Our membership numbers are on target with the numbers this time
last year. But we still have 149
members who haven’t sent in their renewals for the year. If you are in that category, we invite you
to meet the deadline so you will continue to receive the newsletter and when
the directories are distributed you will find your name listed. We look forward to hearing from you. Thanks. LaDona Thomas Vincent President |
