You don’t have to be a great cook to belong to Casual Gourmet, just enjoy good food. Our goal is to simply have an evening out with friends in a casual environment.

Our group meets the first Saturday of each month at 6:30 p.m. from October through May. Groups of eight share in the preparation and costs of a pre-planned menu and dine together at member host homes.

Each month, members receive a menu and host assignments via email two weeks prior to the dinner date. The members then contact their host couple and commit to being either Couple 1, 2 or 3 and making the part of the menu that corresponds to that category. Couple 1, 2 and 3 are then responsible for that part of the dinner, preparation and costs. Most dinners have 5 courses and include a cocktail or wine and appetizer. All costs are totaled at the end of the dinner and divided among the participants. Our average dinner costs $30 per couple.

Our members are encouraged to submit their favorite menus which help in the overall coordination of Casual Gourmet.

We have regular and substitute members since we are an active community and not everyone is able to attend all dinners.
